Dictionary Project
Northside Rotary is proud to participate in the The Dictionary Project. Each year members of Northside deliver dictionaries to every 3rd grade student in the Fayetteville Public Schools.
The goal of The Dictionary Project is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn, so we encourage our sponsors to give dictionaries each year to children in the third grade.

Remember Being a Teenager?
If you knew then just a little of what you know now, wouldn’t it have been easier?
Each semester, members of Northside Rotary present the CHOICES program to 8th grade students in the Fayetteville Public School System.
CHOICES is an interactive decision-making workshop that empowers teens to achieve academic success in pursuit of their career and life aspirations. In two hour-long sessions, business and community volunteers take students through real-world exercises on academic self-discipline, time and money management, and goal setting.
Students get it. Communities want it.
CHOICES keeps teens “into” school!
DOES THIS SOUND INTERESTING TO YOU?
OUR CLUB NEEDS MORE MEMBERS TO HELP PRESENT THIS PROGRAM.
This is not a major commitment: two one-hour sessions at Ramay and Woodland Junior High on two consecutive days, plus an approximately two hour training session prior to the sessions beginning. This is a “pre-packaged” program, so you will just need to be familiar with the program outline and steps.
